Cinderella, Rodgers & Hammerstein

I always like fairly tale, especially Cinderella. I knew this story since very young age, and still loving it until today. The story itself, gave me motivation and moral support to keep on dreaming and never stop believing in myself. Because, impossible things are happening every day.

Disney was the one that introduced me to this lovely story. But, my heart goes to Rodgers & Hammerstein. Their version of Cinderella performance and songs are killing it! I instantly falling in love with the melody, lyrics, and story line.

Before Broadway, Cinderella Rodgers and Hammerstein was aired on March 31st, 1957 by CBS. The original cast of Cinderella was Julie Andrews. She is also famous in The Sound of Music and Princess Diary.

January 25th, 2013; Cinderella Rodgers & Hammerstein’s stage version was performed on Broadway. This performance featuring a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and directed by Mark Brokaw.

Original cast members was Santino Fontana as Prince and Laura Osnes as Cinderella. Their both so far, are the best actors and actress who played Cinderella and Prince. Laura Osnes has beautiful and princess like voice when singing and talking.

 

Cinderella won Tony Award Best Costumes Design in 2013, and several nominations including Best Revival of a Musical. Other famous celebrities such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Keke Palmer,  and Fran Drescher. The production now will be on tour again. For those of you who like Cinderella or Rodgers & Hammerstein, should watch this performance. I wish they will be touring to Jakarta. Fingers cross!
